A New Year
So they Days of Grace in Small Things didn't go so well for me in 2009, at least as far as blog posts. I did think about it every day, I just didn't post much. I think that at least fulfilled some of the spirit of the project. I considered trying stay with it till I actually hit 365. But really, falling behind on those specific posts kept me from posting anything at all, so instead I'm going to try to stick with thinking about stuff I'm grateful for, and go back to stupid, frivolous posts. Go with your strengths, I always say.

1. When the new minister was at the Christian Ed meeting tonight, I made a reference to September 19 [NOTE- NOT directly relevant to the Chr. Ed. program] and Michael was the only one in the room who got the reference. Michael rocks.
2. Michael also shows promise in other ways. It's not just the pirate thing.
3. I'm very fond of the song "Smile," by, (ugh) Uncle Kracker. This produces a level of shame equal to or even slightly greater than the "I'm Yours" situation.
4. Finally got Harrison to the dentist.
5. This.

Sunday, November 1
1. Communion this morning went smoothly. I'm sure most people take this sort of thing for granted.
2. Beautiful day.
3. Picked up new dog today. Emi, the dog formerly known as Josie, is on the premises.
4. Harrison is going on the mission trip next weekend.
5. Harrison is planning on going on the mission trip even if I can't go. I was nervous.

1. Just had a wonderful dinner of grilled tuna, rice pilaf, broccoli that was in the garden ten minutes earlier, and bread warm from the oven.
2. Jeff baked the aforementioned bread. Fresh, homemade bread is awesome, but even better when I didn't have to put any effort into it.
3. Even with all that going on, I came home from work to a clean kitchen.
4. Early shift at work means I'm home in time to have a life.

1. The Marvin's got their bowl back--can I get a whoop, whoop!
2. I am glad to know Heather, who found said bowl. I lose stuff all the time, and now I know who to call for help. There are, of course, other reasons to be glad about Heather's presence, this is just the most relevant today.
3. Unbelievably beautiful fall day, so gorgeous it makes Thursday look like crap. And Thurday was great.
4. My parenting stock is at what is probably an all time high with my daughter, because we found a dog today. I really dodged a bullet there.
5. Unexpected block of free time allowed me to get some stuff done. Thanks, Dee!

1. Work wasn't totally hellish today.
2. The dentist still saw the boys even though I got them there really late. Really.
3. I made it to the gas station when I was sure I would run out of gas halfway there.
4. Beautiful night for Trick or Treat. Awesome.
5. I scored a ton of candy just by taking the stuff none of the kids wanted-Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, Almond Joy...

1. This Fail.
2. I came home from work because I felt like crap. Then I got to spend most of the day in bed, channel surfing. Too crappy for work is just fine for lying in bed channel surfing.
3. My beautiful niece, Rachel, is thirteen today. Where did those years go?
4. Paula, who also has a birthday today, told me how to do some cool new things on Farmtown.
5. I think it's time for another nap.
